With the arrival of summer, many of us assume that direct exposure to the sun can cause ultraviolet rays to damage our skin and eyes.
Here are some tips to protect yourself from UV rays even when you think they can’t reach you.
Wear sunglasses with 100 percent UV protection. It’s important to invest in a good pair of sunglasses that will keep your eyes completely protected from UV rays, since they are very delicate and the damage can be irreversible.
Protect yourself from the reflections. Sunlight reflected on mirrors, snow or large bodies of water can cause as much damage to your eyes as direct sunlight. Make sure to not stare directly into reflections, and wear hats or your sunglasses to keep your eyes protected.
Wear sunscreen whenever you are outside. UV rays do not necessarily work like sunlight, and they can reach you even when it’s cloudy. You can opt for applying a sunscreen with a lesser SPF factor if the sun is not hitting very hard.
Remember that besides being able to reach you even through clouds, UV rays are present in all seasons.
